Painters and sculptors, writers and poets, scientists and inventors were laying the foundations of modern Western civilization.

In this seething cauldron of creativity, Michelangelo and da Vinci displayed the full range of their extra- ordinary virtuosity. Their inventiveness and creativity were at once radical and sublime.

The Catholic Church served as a catalyst for much of Michelangelo’s inspiration. The fresco of saints swarming around an Apollo-like Jesus was perhaps Michelangelo’s most inspiring creation.
